Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the UltimateJedi.com Platform ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Platform. The Platform is available to United States residents only. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Account Registration

To participate in contests and access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary.

4. User Conduct

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You will not engage in any activity that:

• Violates any applicable law or regulation.
• Interferes with or disrupts the Platform or servers.
• Attempts to manipulate contest outcomes or scoring.
• Uses automated systems or bots to participate.

5. Contests and Forecasting

The Platform offers skill-based forecasting contests tied to real-world outcomes. Your participation is voluntary, and prizes are awarded based on accuracy and skill as determined by the Platform's scoring system.

6. Prizes and Rewards

Prizes are awarded to the top three forecasters in each contest. All prizes are subject to availability and may be subject to additional terms and conditions. The Platform reserves the right to modify or cancel contests or prizes at any time.

7. Contest Scoring, Winners, and Prize Awards

Question Types. Each contest consists of one or more forecasting questions, each of which is either a Choice question or a Numeric question.

Choice Question Scoring. For Choice questions, you select an answer and assign a confidence level between 25% and 100%. Scores are calculated using a modified Brier scoring method where higher scores are better, with a maximum possible score of 1.0 per question:

• If your answer is correct, your score is: 1 − (1 − confidence)²
• If your answer is incorrect, your score is: 1 − confidence²

This means that expressing high confidence in a wrong answer is penalized heavily (0.00 at 100% confidence), while expressing appropriate uncertainty is rewarded regardless of outcome. For example, a correct answer at 100% confidence earns a perfect 1.00, while a correct answer at 50% confidence earns 0.75.

Numeric Question Scoring. For Numeric questions, you submit a numeric prediction within a defined range. Your score is based on how close your prediction is to the actual outcome, normalized across the full range of the question: score = 1 − (|your answer − actual outcome| ÷ range). A perfect prediction earns 1.0; a prediction at the far edge of the range earns 0.0.

Total Score and Rankings. Your total contest score is the sum of your scores across all questions. Participants are ranked from highest to lowest total score at the conclusion of the scoring period. The Platform's scoring calculations are final and binding.

Tiebreaker. In the event that two or more participants have an equal total score, the tiebreaker is determined by the earliest answer submission time. The participant who submitted their answers first will be ranked higher. Tied participants at the same prize tier who cannot be separated by submission time will share that prize equally.

Prize Awards. Prizes are awarded to the top-ranked participants as described in each contest's prize structure. Prize fulfillment will occur within a reasonable time after the contest is officially scored and closed. The Platform reserves the right to verify the identity and eligibility of winners prior to awarding any prize. Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value unless explicitly stated.

8. Taxes

You are solely responsible for any and all federal, state, and local taxes that may be due on prizes or rewards you receive through the Platform. The Platform does not withhold taxes on your behalf and does not provide tax advice. It is your responsibility to determine whether your winnings are taxable and to report and pay any applicable taxes in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction. The Platform may be required by law to collect certain tax identification information from winners above applicable reporting thresholds.

9. Contest Cancellation and Credit Refunds

The Platform reserves the right to cancel any contest at any time prior to its conclusion, for any reason. In the event a contest is cancelled, all entry credits spent by participants on that contest will be refunded to the respective user accounts promptly and automatically.

Reasons for cancellation may include, but are not limited to:

• Insufficient participation or low interest in a contest.
• Ambiguity, inaccuracy, or unresolvability of one or more contest questions.
• A real-world event being cancelled, postponed, or rendered inconclusive.
• Technical issues affecting the integrity of the contest.
• Any circumstance that, in the Platform's sole judgment, makes fair scoring or prize distribution impractical.

The Platform will make reasonable efforts to notify affected participants of a cancellation. Credit refunds are your sole remedy in the event of a contest cancellation, and the Platform shall have no further liability to participants.

10. Credit Purchases and Refund Policy

Credits may be purchased through the Platform to enter paid contests. All credit purchases are final and non-refundable. We do not provide refunds for purchased credits under any circumstances, including unused credits, account termination, or dissatisfaction with contest outcomes.

Credits have no cash value and may not be transferred, sold, or exchanged for currency. However, purchased credits do not expire and will remain available in your account indefinitely, provided your account remains in good standing.

Credits that are refunded as a result of a contest cancellation (see Section 9) are not subject to this no-refund policy, as those credits are being returned to your account rather than purchased anew.

11. Defective, Damaged, or Lost Prizes

In the event that a prize is lost in transit, arrives damaged, or is found to be defective, winners should contact the Platform promptly through the contact page with a description of the issue and any supporting documentation or photographs.

The Platform will review all such reports on a case-by-case basis. We will make reasonable efforts to investigate and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement or alternative remedy. However, the Platform reserves the right to refuse a remedy if the circumstances do not warrant one, including but not limited to situations where the claim cannot be substantiated, where damage occurred after delivery, or where the issue is attributable to the winner's own handling.

Our obligation with respect to prize fulfillment is limited to the prize as originally described. We are not responsible for losses arising from third-party shipping carriers, customs or import issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

12. Dispute Resolution and Binding Arbitration

In the event of any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform, these Terms, or any contest or prize, you agree to resolve such dispute exclusively through binding arbitration rather than in court, except where prohibited by applicable law.

Arbitration will be conducted in a venue of the Platform's choosing. By agreeing to these Terms, you waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in any class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding on all parties, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.

13. Limitation of Liability for Connectivity and Submission Issues

The Platform is not responsible for any failure, delay, or error in the submission of contest answers that is caused by factors outside of our reasonable control. This includes, without limitation:

• Network latency, packet loss, or internet connectivity issues on the part of the user.
• Browser, device, or operating system failures.
• Third-party service outages or disruptions.
• Power failures or interruptions affecting the user's equipment.
• Any other technical issue originating outside the Platform's infrastructure.

It is your responsibility to ensure a stable internet connection when submitting contest answers. The Platform strongly recommends submitting your answers well in advance of the contest deadline. We cannot grant extensions, accept late submissions, or provide remedies for answers that were not received by the Platform due to connectivity or technical issues beyond our control.

14. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and materials on the Platform are the property of the Platform or its licensors. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content without prior written permission.

15. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

16. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or reliability of contest outcomes or scoring. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform and its affiliates are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Platform and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Platform.

18. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for violations of these Terms or other reasons.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Platform operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

20. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
